Vintage Dresser Makeover for a Nursery

Nicki of Fiveorite Things is lucky enough to have friends that keep an eye out for furniture on the roadside.  One of her friends spotted this dresser at the neighbor’s curb on trash day, and–like any true friend would–hauled it into her own garage until Nicki could come for it!

Nicki was delighted to find that the dresser her friend had saved for her had pretty carved details and a sturdy frame.  But it definitely needed a makeover.  Since this dresser was destined for her baby girl’s nursery, Nicki gave it a fresh, new look with pale pink and white paint.  The original hardware was lovely, but several of the pulls were missing, so she replaced all of them with sweet fabric ties.  Finished, the dresser fits perfectly in the nursery and offers tons of storage space.  Beautiful!

Thanks for featuring our labor of love. We were so excited by how this turned out, we are now taking on a cast-off rocker to complete the space. Look out for that makeover soon!

Now that is what I call a good friend! And the end result is gorgeous…first time I’ve seen fabric for drawer pulls, great idea!

Thanks Debbie! She is a good friend. Actually, all of my friends have been trolling their neighborhood garbage for us. We’re going to end up like Sanford & Son over here. Haha.
