Lamps from Wallpaper Printing Rollers

Add Restoration Redoux, Shanna has been working on a really unique project.  She explains, “I got these strange rollers with lamp bases attached at a yard sale for a dollar a piece. Turns out they were originally from a wallpaper company in Sweden from the 60′s. They were dipped in ink and then printed the pattern on the wallpaper.”

Cool story, right?  But they were in desperate need of a makeover!  Shanna spray painted them with Valspar’s Tropical Oasis, then sanded part of that away so the gold pattern would show through.  Then, Shanna tells us, “ I got some plain lamp shades and taped off a chevron pattern and them sprayed them with the same gold as the bases.”  The result is a gorgeous, unique lamp set in gold and blue with a really interesting backstory!

Don’t you love things with a story? It’s fun to be able to share something interesting when people come to your house and comment on an accessory or piece of furniture.
