Emily from Raise A Boy shared on I {heart} Nap Time how she created a sandbox for her son from a tractor tire. So much more fun than plain old wood, right?!?
Emily was able to get her tire for free from a tire shop and bought returned paint from Home Depot to keep costs low. She even got her sand for free through the classifieds section. As if playing in sand isn’t fun enough, what kid wouldn’t get a kick out of sitting in a giant tire?

Back in the 70′s I made one of these out of a tractor tire. Painted it yellow. Put a piece of pipe in the ground to support a large beach umbrella…filled it with play sand. My 3 kids played for hours daily in it!
