Hanging Jewelry Holder

Lori from Bleak2Unique got this old rocking chair that was discarded at the curb. After realizing she just had no room for it, Lori summoned her creative powers and repurposed its parts for a couple of other projects.

One of Lori’s upcycles was to turn the seatback into a jewelry holder for her
daughter. She sprayed it her daughter’s favorite color, turquoise, and added a coordinating leopard print fabric around the edge for some pizzazz. With the holes in the seatback, it was practically begging to become a jewelry holder. What a genius idea on Lori’s part!

Sorry but to see that beautiful chair destroyed kills me we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I have this rocking chair and can’t find replacement for the seat!!!! My grandmother liked to plop in it and eventually busted it. Don’t even know what it is called or where I could find it. Do you still have the seat portion???

    • Kimberly says:

      Or any spare parts really…

Kimberly: I just bought this same exact chair at the goodwill. My husband and I want to put cushions on the seat and back instead of the original. Would you want to buy the seat or the back from us for $10?

  3. Kimberly, the chair is called a bentwood rocker (and is from the 1970′s). I owned one years ago. Try searching now that you know the style – I think you could find one.

Gotta agree w/Roseann on this one. ALWAYS luv the ‘rescued’ items, BUT that beautiful chair just needed a home, not murdered. Not trying to insult anyone, like it says above, Speak Your Mind.

Got to say this is a great idea. Better to upcycle than for it to be sent to the dump where it would be appreciated by no one. Were you able to do anything with the arms? They look like wings to me.
