After dropping her kids off at school, Karin from Art Is Beauty spotted this coffee table in the trash. She didn’t let the fact that she was still in her pjs deter her from hauling it home. I am not exaggerating when I say that this table was a mess. Not only was the top covered in plastic floor tiles but had metal floor edging around it. The drawers were also totally warped and unusable.
Karin slaved away to prep this baby for painting, including chiseling off the tile glue with a heat gun and creating faux drawer fronts. After all that, she layered on paint and stain and distressed until she had the “old coffee sign” look she was after. The final step was to sketch and paint her design. Karin definitely earned some time to relax and kick up her feet on her new “coffee” table.
