Kathleen from Kathy’s Cottage found a beautiful old buffet on the side of the road needing a little love and rehab. Despite looking a bit outdated, Kathleen absolutely loved the piece’s intricate carvings. It was in pretty good shape except for a piece of molding that was missing from the bottom drawer.
Kathleen and her husband replaced the molding and then completely transformed the piece with some paint and elbow grease to refinish the top. The hours Kathleen’s husband put into the top definitely paid off! It looks absolutely gorgeous with its rich color and shine. I am simply in love with how this piece came out!

Kathy and her husband have such a “good eye” when it comes to finds and remaking old into new. This piece is no exception. I’m totally blown away by the change in this piece of furniture!

Kathy and Earl are amazingly talented people…This piece is awesome!
What?!?!? On the side of the road?!?! Crazy!! I can believe people actually throw away things like this. And why don’t they do it in my neighborhood?
What a spectacular find!
Kathy always brings beauty to whatever she does. Her roadside find is gorgeous!

That’s a breathtaking transformation, Kathy!!
Oh my goodness… often I see the same style of refinishing over and over… and often, it is NOT what the piece is begging for.
This refinish job is just SO perfect for the piece, it’s just beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous. What an amazing transformation. I can’t believe this was found on the side of the road! The finish on top is perfect. Great work.
