I would dare say most of us have lived in a home that has those horrendous Hollywood light fixtures in every bathroom. If not, count yourself lucky! Pretty Handy Girl Brittany shares a great project for repurposing those fixtures as you replace them with lighting that’s a bit more style savvy.
Brittany painted the metal canopy and added glass votives to create a tea light holder perfect for a table, mantel, or even bathtub ledge. Brittany added beading around the votives for a little bling. I give Brittany big time props for finding a creative and lovely way to repurpose these outdated atrocities.

holy frijoles! That’s the best use of one a those UGLY fixtures I’ve ever seen.. It coulda only dreamed it’d look so purty!
Fabulous solution! Everyone has those hideous things around. It’s nice to see them used for good instead of evil.
Extremely creative!
WOW!!! Amazing! Now I know what to do with the hideous fixture from my bathroom.
I just replaced it and was going to take it to Habitate, but I love this. What’s even worse than those lights in their original ugliness, but rent a place where someone lost all of the globes and have stuck in the new energy saver bulbs. YUCK!! That’s what I saw everyday until last week when I replaced mine. So glad someone thought of this fantastic way to upcycle.
I have this fixture in my bathroom, I’m sad to say. However, it was cheap and it replaced the crazy hanging thing from the 70′s that was there when I moved in.
