For this project, Denise from A Sprinkle of This… A Dash of That started off with a pile of pine 1x12s that had once been an old, rundown bookshelf she got from Freecycle. If you’re unfamiliar with Freecycle, it’s a network that reduces waste by connecting people with free items in their community. Talk about a great way to score some free loot!
After Denise’s husband disassembled the bookshelf, Denise and a friend tackled the boards with some sand paper. They then followed plans from Ana White to assemble the boards into a cubby unit for Denise’s entryway. Those little cubbies are a great shoe storage solution,especially since the kids can easily play their part in putting away and getting out their own shoes.
